Time Flies...

I'm finding plenty of fun things to do while we wait. So, if we get our call this week, its going to interrupt all of my plans. I won't complain, of course. I'm so much happier staying busy and planning things! I know we'll get the call soon. Tonight my husband reminded me that while we want the baby NOW, the Lord knows something we don't. I need to rest in that. He's ours. We're already in love with him! One day soon, in God's perfect timing, he'll be home.

We spent Saturday with my aunt's exchange student, H. We had her over to play at the farm and roast marshmallows on the fire. I really enjoyed watching her experience all of these things for the first time. She fed the goats raw noodles (their favorite treat), fed the chickens, and I let her drive my Ranger. She doesn't drive. THAT was fun! There's nothing better than listening to someone laugh!!

She loves lightening bugs. She was trying to catch them. She lives in Seoul and says there is not grass, just concrete. She ran in the yard and was intrigued by the corn. Matt taught her to play horse shoes.

It really made me think about what we take for granted. We live this great life in the country. We're surrounded by farmland but we're close to everything. Our neighbors aren't close. We have tons of pets. We have clean water and a big house--anything is big compared to what she's used to .

Is it me? Or do you sometimes let life just roll--waiting for the next big thing, not really enjoying the simple stuff. We have our "to do" lists. We run here and there. But we don't take a few minutes to relax and enjoy the simple, most important things--like sit by the fire and talk.

SO, this week I'm off to the beach with a friend. My hubby is going to bring H down later and meet me. She has not been to a beach. How much fun she will have in the water and on the boardwalk!!

Finally, my new hobby...yard toys. Now, our baby is nine months old and is not quite ready for playhouses and swing sets. But its keeping my mind off of things! So I'm on the hunt for Little Tikes playhouses and cars and climbers. I want my boy to enjoy the outdoors!

I'm not a shopper but this is BAD! He now has the pirate ship, two slides, the patio playhouse, doorbell playhouse, a cube, a rocking boat...and tomorrow I go for the log cabin playhouse.

I'm obsessed! Yes, I am. But its keeping my mind off of the wait! My goal was a little village. And he has a little village now.

Some people love clothes, some shoes. I like my yard toys!
