Moving in the Right Direction

Things have been so up and down with this adoption. So many changes, one step forward, two steps back. But it seems that we're moving in the right direction now. Our dossier was authenticated at the Vietnamese consulate. It has two stops and then its on its way to be registered at the International Adoption Department in Vietnam. That's when our clocks starts.

We had news this week that our agency is now handing out referrals. That was GREAT news because they were about the only agency that hadn't. We're expecting things to keep rolling and HOPING for our referral in three months. We were told to expect 5-8 months but this round of referrals came three months after the dossiers arrived in Vietnam. So we're hoping for three months. We would travel three months after that. So, Lord willing, there will be a little baby in our arms by the end of February at the latest.

I know the Lord is trying to teach me patience. Its been very difficult, wanting a child so badly and having no control over any part of it. This shouldn't be some grand eye-opening experience for me. I should have learned long ago that we have no control over anything. I just need to keep my eye on the blessing in this life adventure that Matt and I are on.

There is a child in an orphanage across the world who is waiting to be loved, and held, and feel safe. A baby that God has been chosen just for us.
