Every Friday we get an update from our agency. Since we are getting so close to our referral, I thought I'd start posting the updates, at least until we get our call.
Tonight, the update didn't really say much. Our agency contact will be in Ethiopia for the next week setting up the new Hannah's Hope. Our agency has a Hannah's Hope in Guatemala. They take in pregnant women and care for them until they give birth. They encourage the mothers to keep their children, if they can, or they place the babies.
So she will be out of the country. We're hoping we will get our referral this week. If so, she will miss out on calling us. She's been working with us throughout our Vietnam process. Its kinda sad that she won't be able to make the call. I know she really enjoys doing that. And we'll get the call from someone we don't know.
The other night I started making lists-packing lists, to do lists, etc. We're going to have to figure out what we want to do for suitcases. I'm afraid I'm going to take everything but the kitchen sink. I'd take that too but it would take us over the weight limit for the plane. I need to be prepared but I also have to remember that I'll be able to buy things in Vietnam.
Oh, what fun we're going to have!! I love to plan. I'll be bouncing off the walls when we get the call! We're getting closer...........
Another thing I've been doing lately is spending time at Brittany's Hope. I've been doing some volunteer work there. BH is a wonderful non-profit that helps parents adopt children with special needs by providing grants to help with the adoption fees. Please check it out! Brittany's Hope was founded in memory of an adopted child who was lost in a car accident. You can read all about Brittany, the founder, their family of 12 children (9 adopted, 3 bio), and ways you can help to support the foundation. Candace Abel puts her heart and soul into her family and the foundation. I have a great respect for her and the work that she does through the foundation. Today I asked her for some parenting advice. She has 12 kids!! I was ready to take notes. She simply said, "you just love them".
I need to get some sleep. I don't think I'm going to get much sleep during our third trimester. That's right! I'm paper pregnant. And I have the emotions to prove it.
